Metal Stamping & Deep Drawing

From steel and aluminum to copper, brass, nylon, Mylar, phenolics, and exotic alloys — our press shop works the material your part actually needs.

Metal Stamping

Metal Stamping and Deep Drawing are the backbones of Samtan Engineering’s business. Mild steel, stainless steels, aluminum, copper, and brass alloys; Nylon, Mylar, and phenolics; Inconel, Monel, and molybdenum; Samtan has experience with a multitude of materials in an array of thicknesses.

Our stamping department runs more than 45 punch presses ranging from 3 to 500 tons, giving us the flexibility to handle everything from simple stampings to intricate assemblies. We run short, medium, and long production runs alike.

A partial list of our stamping presses:

  • Open Back Inclinable — 19 presses from manufacturers including Bliss, Niagara, V&O, Johnson, Rockford, Walsh, and Benchmaster, ranging 3–105 tons
  • Straight Side — Bliss, 75 tons

Deep Drawing

Our draw department pairs multiple-action draw presses with draw-cushion-equipped punch presses to produce deep drawings of nearly any size. We run 5 mechanical and 3 hydraulic double-action draw presses from 50 to 550 tons, plus 8 draw-cushion OBI punch presses for smaller, high-volume parts.

We've drawn parts as small as a 3/8" cylindrical shell and as large as a 30" buffet pan — low quantity or high volume, Samtan has the equipment to match your part.

A partial list of our deep drawing presses:

  • Mechanical — (5) Bliss, 50–125 tons
  • Hydraulic — (1) HPM at 175 tons, (1) HPM at 550 tons, (1) Lake Erie at 500 tons
